Learn Piano with Maestro Mouse (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what never leaves your device.
Information we collect
Anonymous usage data
- An anonymous install identifier, created by the app when it is first opened. It is not linked to your name, email address or Apple Account.
- App events, such as screens viewed, lessons started and finished, and buttons tapped, so we can see which parts of the app work and which need improving.
- Device information: device model, iOS version, app version and language.
Purchase information
Whether you have an active subscription, and which one. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Your progress
Your lessons, songs and practice progress are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, Apple syncs them to your own private iCloud account so they follow you to your other devices. That data lives in your Apple account, not ours — we cannot read it.
Microphone
With your permission, the app listens through the microphone to recognise the notes you play. The audio is processed on your device only, as you play. It is never recorded, stored or uploaded, and no one — including us — can listen to it. You can turn microphone access off at any time in your device's Settings; the parts of the app that do not need it keep working.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address or phone number
- Your location
- Your contacts or photos
- Any recording of your voice or your playing
There are no user accounts; you do not sign in to use the app. The app shows no ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Third-party services
- Apple (App Store, iCloud): processes purchases and syncs your progress to your own private iCloud account.
- Adapty: manages in-app subscriptions. Receives an anonymous identifier and your subscription status.
- PostHog: product analytics. Receives the anonymous install identifier, app events and device information described above.
- YouTube: some lessons include videos embedded from YouTube, played through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When you play one, YouTube receives the request from your device, and Google's Privacy Policy applies to it.
Each service processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Data security
We operate no user database and store no personal data on our own servers. Analytics and purchase data travel over encrypted connections.
Children's privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The information it collects is anonymous, as described above.
Your choices
- Turn off microphone access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Turn off iCloud sync for the app in your device's iCloud settings.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your device. To ask about the anonymous analytics data tied to your install, email us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any change will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
